Tokyo Designer's Week
from 30 Oct to 3 Nov, design has been blooming everywhere in tokyo !
I had some chances to pop in the opening party of Design Tide and 100% Design this year.
10月30日〜11月3日までは、東京がデザインで溢れています！
今年は デザイン・タイドのオープニング・パーティと100%デザインに立ち寄る機会が有りました。

there's Japan Brand exhibition and I happened to meet Aizu Painting
which is traditional one in jp.
it looks so beautiful and chic !
recently many designers has got involved in such japanese traditional craft
to revival them in modern ways.
I totally agree with that !
there are more great design shows there which i couldn't take pics.
I feel design is a sort of life style which enrich your life :-)

ジャパン・ブランド・エキビジジョンというのがありました。
たまたま、会津若松の会津塗りと出会いました。とてもキレイでシックです。
最近、沢山のデザイナーがこういった日本の伝統文化を現代的な方法で蘇る試みが多いですね。
私も、大賛成です!
写真は撮れなかったけど、もっと沢山の素敵なデザインがありました。
デザインは、人生を豊かにする１つのライフスタイルですね :-)

この本が有名なのは判りきった事ですが
私の最近の流行りの方法は、日本語と英語の両方のバージョンで読む事です。
そうする事で、自分の英語レベルを保つ良い訓練になるし
翻訳へのアドヴァイスが得られます。
（実は、特に日本語のセンスが...）
とにかく、ジョナサンはただのカモメじゃない！
it's obvious this book is quite famous.
however, my recent favorite way is to read in both Japanese and English version.
Doing in that way is very nice exercise to keep up my English level and
i can get some tips for translation between them.
(Actually especially for sense of Japanese...)
Anyway, this Jonathan is NOT an ordinary seagull !!!

なんだか 可愛いので捨てられず
うちの本棚で暮らしてます
this girl is an add for an instrument ’Matryomin'.

today's phrase
真の教えは文字や言葉では表現できない所にある
本当に大切なことは言葉にはできない
これは禅宗の教えです
言葉やデザインは「心の形」だと私は信じているのですが
うっかり「見えるもの；言葉や形」に捕われてしまう時もあります
しかし こうした心構えをいつも心に刻んでおきたいですね
Teaching the truth is in the place not expressible in the character and the word.
A really important thing cannot be done in the word.
This is the lesson from ZEN.
I believe that words and design come from the shape of heart.
From time to time we happen to be caught by「visible things : words and shapes」
however, I want to always retain my mental attitude like this.

little kyoto via kyoto
just landed at kyoto !
then, little kyoto....
ok, I'll tell u the truth....
It's actually Takehara in Hiroshima where it's said little kyoto in Aki
( Aki means Hiroshima Prif during Heian period;794~1185/1192.)
The popular way of tiled roof is called Karahafu style having big carb shaps,
what's more, the lattice doors do have their own beautiful design.
Kyoto is really great but this Takehara can't be missed it !

じゃ、本当の事を言うと。。。
実は、これは「安芸の小京都」と呼ばれる広島県竹原市です
（平安時代；794~1185/1192に、広島県は「安芸」と呼ばれてました）
瓦屋根の一般的な様式は、大きな曲線を持った唐破風と呼ばれ
そして、格子窓（戸）は、それぞれ独自の美しいデザインが施されてます
京都は本当に素晴らしい街ですが、竹原も見逃せませんよ！

for a competition
a communication dining table
the concept is that a table let people want to gather around.
i thought the target is for elderly people because they want to live as they used to be
like meeting friends as having a cup of coffee or dinner as much as they can.
therefore, this table can create more communication as placing a small counter over the
normal table hight where you can prepare for tea time, serving foods and etc as talking with your friends.
so you don't have to turn around to have conversation from the kitchen where is a bit
away from dining room and enjoy your happy time.
